Our story begins on March 14th 2018. A documentary on air pollution in schools sparks protest. Alarmed parents take to the streets because they are fed up with the domination of the car and the health effects their exhaust have on our children.

Exactly one year later we want to grow this movement outside Belgian borders. From March 15th until the European elections we encourage you to protest together, wherever you are!

What is filter Cafés solution?

HELP, I’M CHOKING!

FILTER-CAFÉ-FILTRÉ has a vision of a world where quality of life and people’s health is more important than the use of polluting cars. Better quality of life means  improved air quality, more green spaces and safer traffic. It means more space for walking, cycling, public transport and less for polluting cars. .

To make this vision a reality, we are calling for:

  1. Air pollution legal limits to be respected around all schools.
  2. Car free streets to be created around all schools.
  3. A change in the way we move about towards more walking, cycling and increased use of public transport.
  4. Improved public transport powered by renewable energy.
  5. An extensive cycle lane network and no new investment in existing road infrastructure without parallel investment in clean transport.
  6. Promotion of shared electric vehicles (powered by renewable energy).
  7. More, better planned and accessible public green spaces.
  8. Improved road safety for pedestrians and cyclists with a focus on safer crossings, especially near schools.
  9. An extensive network of air quality measuring stations across our cities.
  10. Dynamic awareness raising campaigns for better air quality, road safety, green mobility and the climate.
